A single-bay Synology NAS for backups, file sharing and light media serving. It is not fast by modern standards, but it idles at around 10 watts and just keeps running — which is exactly what a backup target should do.
- Sequential reads over 112MB/s
- Around 9.81W under full operation — cheap to leave on
- DSM file sharing, backup and media services built in
- Ideal first NAS or an off-machine backup target
